Sal didn’t stop there. “There’s also the question of whether you can perform a relationship convincingly.”
Allegra privately wondered what there was to perform. After all, people were already assuming they were together—and they both knew there was something between them. “We’re not starting from nothing.”
She could feel Sal’s eyes on her. “You think that will make it easier.” Sal set her jaw and stood. “Okay,” she said. “I’m going to set up a mock interview like I often do when training clients for media. If it’s going to be that easy to pretend we’re together, show me.”
